Volvo Tech Tool 2.8 is the OEM diagnostic application Volvo and Mack dealers run in the shop — the current 2.8.x branch. If you run Volvo D11, D13, or D16 or Mack MP7, MP8, and MP10 engines, this is the software that actually talks to every module on the truck, not just the engine.

What it reaches on your truck

Tech Tool connects to the Engine ECM, Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM), Transmission ECU (TECU), and Vehicle ECU — so you can chase a derate or an SCR fault across the systems that actually cause it instead of guessing.

What you can do

• Read and clear active and stored fault codes
• Run guided diagnostics, component tests, and calibrations
• Program parameters: PTO settings, idle shutdown, road-speed limit, clutch adaptations
• ECM/ACM/TECU programming on OBD2013 and newer emissions trucks
• Forced DPF regen, injector coding, and aftertreatment service routines

The adapter you need

A Volvo Vocom or Vocom II interface (88890300 / 88894000) is the reliable choice for programming. A Nexiq USB-Link works for many diagnostic functions.
